Fit Club Concept

Many health clubs are struggling despite the fact there is an obesity epidemic, what are they not doing? Fit club is all about getting results:

  1. Eat Clean, structured balanced nutrition, personalised to the individual i.e. recommended daily protein intake, resting and active metabolic rates etc Using the Herbalife Nutrition Programmes to transition from a poor diet to a healthy one. See refs to cellular nutrition below.
  2. Exercise Program (Metabolic Workouts and Strength Training)
  3. Regular Body Composition Testing-Track your progress to stay motivated, don't rely on the bathroom scales. See improvements in body fat%, muscle mass, visceral fat, metabolic age etc
  4. Ongoing coaching, education and support
  5. Set yourself a goal. For example, enter one of 3 categories in the Level 10 Body Transformation Challenge, with prizes. Or “5 weeks to Run a 5k”. A 5k is fun, sociable and achievable! Having this goal event, something to shoot for with an ending can help you stay motivated.
  6. Duplicate this model so you can teach others your skills and increase your income that way so get true financial independence from working in the industry.  Don't be stuck at an income of 15k forever

Why 80%+ Growth?

  1. The programmes work, we get results: The Science of Meal Replacement, Cellular Nutrition, Herbal Science and The Power of Protein.  We have 30% of the world market for meal replacements. See details below.
  2. Offer a wellness solution as defined by The Fit Club Concept, not just one part of it, such as an exercise programme.  And personalised solutions with education and aftercare.
  3. Simple solutions: skipping breakfast have a shake, min 15 g of protein per meal, strength training 3 times a week etc etc .
  4. Body Composition Testing - Why isn't everyone doing this? All gyms and slimming clubs??
  5. Huge demand for our products and services i.e. numbers overweight, diabetes epidemic and numbers playing sports.
  6. Wellness Trends -  Plant based protein is hot! - Consumers focus on body shape not just counting calories, body fat not weight. They are aware that protein can assist in weight management and provide a feeling of fullness. And the benefits of plant protein are gaining momentum. A trend towards fitness based results.
  7. Support of large and successful company operating in 80 countries. e.g. marketing support
  8. Huge success with our 3 day trial a great tool for referral marketing.
  9. Facebook as a business tool, using secret facebook groups, for example
  10. Herbalife coaches get in the best shape of their lives and then inspire others.
  11. Herbalife 24 Performance Nutrition  is attracting a younger more athletic distributor group.
  12. Sponsorships - Lionel Messi, Ronaldo and so many more.

Results Based Fitness

Ask many health clubs what results they get for their clients and you may draw a blank! Are they scared of what they will find?! Some clubs test at the start but don't monitor progress ongoing (metabolic age, body fat% , visceral fat%, muscle mass etc) leaving it to the clients to rely on the bathroom scales at home. These scales typically don't reflect progress made as they don't tell you what is fat and what is muscle. Many gym goers lose motivation and stop going.

Shouldn't all clients be offered free body composition testing every week or bi-weekly, not only those that hire a Pt?

Once the objective is about getting results for clients,  then a wellness solution is key i.e. nutrition, exercise, regular body composition testing, education and challenges. Here is one example:

"Many people say that, as they age, they eat and exercise the same amount but still gain weight. One of the main causes of this is loss of muscle mass. Genetically, women have less muscle than men, and as a woman ages, the preservation of lean muscle becomes vital. By the time you've hit 30, muscular strength begins to head south". Tom Holland, Exercise Physiologist

To help preserve muscle mass step up your strength training and aim for at least 20 grams of protein at very meal. Focus on getting both plant protein and animal protein into your diet. And don't skip your protein shake after you exercise and think that you'll save calories! A protein shake after training accelerates lean muscle growth, which in turn revs your metabolism and burns more fat, and speeds up recovery.

And pass on your skills to others and earn a royalty income.

Problems with the Fitness Professional Business Model?

  1.  FINANCIAL – The Average Fitness Professional wage is £15,000 per year and lots of outside factor’s often cap this.
  2.  NO LADDER – Very Often Fitness Professional's wages will not rise from decade to decade. They sell time but time runs out.
  3.  NO WORK LIFE BALANCE – the nature of the work is very erratic working hours - 6am starts / 9pm finishes to work 7-8 hours.
  4.  THE INDUSTRY DOSNT APPRECIATE THEM – The fitness industry is always holding back the potential of the trainer/Instructor.
  5.  JOB INSECRUITY – Time of year (XMAS), Holidays, Sickness (NO WORK)
  6.  GLAMOUR TITLE – but still living month to month financially.
  7.  BAD CLIENT RESULTS – Clients continue to fail as they set EXPENSIVE, NON-PRACTICAL, UN-BALANCED, UN-REALISTIC dietary plans.
  8.  LIMITED TIME - Look after 30 clients and then what? Limited opportunity to teach other skills learnt and benefit from it financially(royalty)
  9.  RUN DOWN - PTs who don't look forward to the last two sessions of the day! Some overweight some, not getting adequate nutrition based on the active lifestyle they lead.
  10.  NO CLEAR VISION OF THE THEIR FUTURE. - Opportunities become fewer with age and frustration with the industry builds over time
  11.  60% LEAVE THE INDUSRTY WITHIN 4 YEARS - so many wasted skills

Since the inception of the health and fitness industry, business analysts have often complained that health clubs are too reliant on only one revenue stream, membership sales. The same can be said for most PT businesses. In this case, PTs are over reliant on one to one training revenue.

The marketing guru, Jay Abrahams, talks about building a business upon several pillars. He uses the analogy of the Pantheon. He says the roof could not be kept on by just one pillar and it would even struggle with just two, so three is the minimum required to provide a solid foundation.

State of the Fitness Industry Presentation

The number one reason PTs leave the industry is because they cannot afford to stay. Many become PTs because of the desire to help people improve their health and well-being, but you must earn enough to give you a reasonable living.

What Are Your Challenges?

You enjoy what you do but cant gain financial independence from it? Work as a personal trainer, fitness instructor, physical trainer, martial arts instructors, yoga teacher, dance teacher, sports coach, therapist,  etc Work in a service industry you are paid by the hour = ceiling to your earnings as only so many hours available per week.? Or you could be self employed and don't have enough clients or they only use your services weekly or occasionally? No one is helping you to find clients and you have no marketing support. Or do the opportunities to work in the fitness sector become more limited as you get older? Or are you moving jobs constantly to find the right opportunity? Working as a personal trainer you've been asked countless times for advice about diet, prepared meal plans for your clients and they haven't followed them! Sometimes a more gradual change to an eating plan is required...

Over the last 12 months we have spent a lot of time talking with speaking with Personal Trainers. Working with trainers to Trainers to Personal Trainers we have identified that there are six key issues that PT's face in growing their business.

The 6 Key Challenges

  1.  Knowing the direction that you want to take your business. What you want to achieve from it, including how many hours you want to work and how much you want to earn.

  2.  Developing a product that your customers want and are willing to pay for while ensuring that it delivers results quickly and effectively. More than just going to a training day.

  3.  Engaging people and converting them to customers.

  4.  Coaching customers to make the necessary behaviour changes required to ensure they achieve their goals. Long term clients

  5.  Breaking free of the restrictions of time so that you are able to provide programmes to a greater number of customers while earning more per hour that you work

  6. Building a business beyond yourselves without the hassles of employing other people or owning a PT studio or purchasing a franchise.

Or your thinking about training for one of the above roles but the training costs may run into thousands (to train as a personal trainer may cost you £2500+) and then at the end of the course, your income doesn't justify the costs.

Work in nutrition in some mundane, repetitive job in industry or you are self employed and don't have enough clients or marketing support. Or lacking motivation working in the public sector?

Testimonials:

Rugby Player and 4 PTs/Fitness Instructors from recent Mega Weekend at Windsor on the 20th/21st Oct. Crazy incomes, call us for details. Zander is at the far end! And Nick, second left who has spent 20 years training Pts and concluded there needs to be a change to the PT business model. Those from the fitness industry are contributing to our massive growth. Announced at the Mega Weekend, the UK is the fastest growing of 46 EMEA countries, up by 60%. And 50% growth in Ireland.

Zander - PT Glasgow: I am a 36 years old Personal Trainer and have been in the Health and Fitness Industry for over 20 years I have a vast experience in various posts such as Fitness Instructor, Group Exercise Instructor, Gym Manager and Part Time Lecturer but Personal Training was always my passion.

When I first launched my Personal Training company,  in September 2004 I felt the business owned me having to work long and strange hours on top of not having much time to spend with my family. On top of all of this, the rewards were not what I was hoping for, earning somewhere between £14K and £18K per annum.

That all changed when I was introduced to this business building model. I quickly learned the 6 steps to growing a successful business and the 3 strategies of financial success.

My fitness business was transformed within a few months, I was working less hours yet my income had trebled. I now work my business around my young family. I have confidence to offer a guarantee with all my programmes and have been able to duplicate my business and build it beyond me.

This has all happened during the worst recession for 100 years! My business and personal life has changed beyond my expectations which is why I am so excited about the future for myself and my family.

Chris - PT : I am the co-owner of my fitness business I have been running my personal training business for over 10 years. Our business aim is to educate and train the public in how to lead a more healthy and fitter life. We achieve this through one to one coaching and training sessions, group workshops, as well as on-line coaching programmes.

I personally handle £4500 worth of business per month and aim to increase that to £6000 per month over the next 12 months.

As I wanted to expand my business and income without increasing the number of one to one sessions I was doing, I needed to find a business system that would increase my income through higher transaction frequency and transaction amount. This  has lead to the number of clients I coached on-line going from 10 to over 40 per week. By also introducing the group weight loss workshops I was also able to increase the number of weight loss products I sell (meal plans, nutrition smoothies, weight loss coaching, etc.).

A recent addition to my business has been a 12 Week Weight Loss Challenge that has attracted clients who aren’t interested in one to one coaching but find group workshops useful and helpful in achieving their weight loss goal. The first challenge I ran generated over £3500 worth of business through personal training sessions, weight loss nutrition plans and nutritional supplements.

Charlie  - PT : I have worked as a Personal Trainer since 2000. I have been working both freelance and within a large gym chain since I started. I got to a point where I had a lot of clients and was spending more and more time working. The only way I could ever increase my earnings was to do more and more hours. I found this frustrating as I have 2 young children who I wanted to spend time with. I increased my freelance hours to take advantage of the better rate, however then was spending more time travelling! At that time I was earning in the region of £19,000 per year.

I started with the Six Step Business Building Model. I started using the systems and following the online training programme. I found the video trainings particularly useful as I now had specific tools to enable me to communicate more effectively and convert more potential customers. I now am in a position where I am always fully booked for the next 3 months ahead and beyond.

I currently work 35 hours a week and earn around £52,000 pa. I use Personal Consultation process and small group workshops as an interactive marketing tool. I am earning much more per hour, and my income is still increasing. My secondary revenue is growing and is likely to overtake my personal training income in the near future. Working with other Personal trainers and sharing ideas and strategies to always improve has been inspiring and insightful.

Lee - PT Maesteg and Swansea : “I cannot believe I did not do this sooner. My clients were over the moon when I told them that I could now supply them with all the nutrition advice and products they needed to maximise their results. They are much happier with the fantastic results they are now getting and I am making an extra £2000 per month income just by recommending Herbalife's excellent products!!”

Peter PT Swansea, South Wales:
"Herbalife has given our Boot camp clients amazing results, and so much more energy in our Boot camp sessions. Its unbelievable how much help you get being part of the Herbalife team, marketing material, seminars, videos you name it Herbalife has thought of it!”

Sean - Tennis Coach - Bristol :
“Herbalife rocks, I've been coaching now for over 12 years and made more money with Herbalife in the last 2 years than ever before, plus my clients get the best possible nutrition 24/7 everybody's a winner ”

Kelly- Zumba Instructor - Birmingham:
“Herbalife has given my members massive amounts of energy, all the girls love the products. we all have our shakes together at the end of the workout, my zumba family. lol Herbalife has given me a second income that I did not know was possible just 20 customers and I make over £1000 per month.!!

Why Herbalife Nutritional Programmes?

Options for those working in fitness:

1. Exercise only - will customers get the results they want when 80% of the focus on losing weight is nutrition
2. Exercise and a balanced diet -
You give the client meal plans, but do they follow them? Can it be that easy? Will they switch from a poor diet to 3 healthy balanced meals a day?
3. Exercise and Meal replacement - Allows clients to make gradual changes to their diet for example taking a shake in place of skipping breakfast for example. Provides a structured meal plan for all those people that skip meals, eat snacks during the day and then eat a huge meal in the evening. Focus on getting protein into every meal, get a balance of plant protein and animal protein in the diet. Find alternatives to carb based snacks which cause swings in blood sugar level. The science of meal replacement, low calorie shakes(215-350 calories), though personalised to the individual but with the nutritional value of 1500 calories of normal food. The programme is based on two shakes and one meal.

The key to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight lies in the ability to adapt a diet to fit the clients individual nutritional needs and lifestyle. That’s why we’ve designed products that a) Allow a personalised balance of nutrients b) Are easy to take at home, at work or on the go.

Accessibility is often an area where people’s diets fail. If you get hungry and you don’t have a healthy meal close to hand, it’s easy to go for something unhealthy which is often high in calories. Herbalife has taken the hard work out of preparing good nutrition by doing the calorie counting and measuring for clients.

Why Cellular Nutrition? - So what happens when your body is not absorbing the nutrients out of the food? First you start needing more food; your appetite increases as do your cravings; because your body needs more nutrients. You also start to crave fat and sugars because they are the easiest substance for your body to absorb. You become fatigued when your body is not getting the proper nutrition.

Why consume a shake after an exercise class?  We use recovery shakes to maximise results from exercise, a shake after training accelerates lean muscle growth, which in turn revs your metabolism and burns more fat.

And we also supply sports nutrition programmes to individual athletes and teams, including some of the best teams in the world such as Barcelona FC.

Launch of Herbalife24™ Performance Nutrition Line for the 24-Hour Athlete™

Best known for our weight management programmes we are also now focussing on the sports diet/ performance nutrition side of our business. Any sporty/ fitness types out there, looking for a career change?

Ronaldo Joins Herbalife:

"I believe passionately in the importance of the right nutrition for me as an individual, both on and off the field. I am looking forward to working with Herbalife, as a company that shares my passion and brings such expertise and knowledge in the area of sports nutrition," Ronaldo.

Because intense speed training and competition so readily deplete the body of key nutrients, athletes who desire peak performance should not limit their nutritional intake to dietary sources alone. And supplementation is much more than a post workout protein shake.

"Science shows that proper nutrition at the cellular level is at least as important to both health and athletic performance as strength training, cardiovascular training, and recovery time. In fact, it’s the foundation for everything else. When you’ve trained as hard as you can, supplementing your diet with nutrients designed specifically to boost muscle growth, recovery, circulation, energy efficiency, and resilience of muscle fibres and connective tissue make all the difference." Dr Andrew Myers: Supplementation for Athletes.

Sports Enthusiast / Professional? - We are also looking for specialists in each sport/ fitness activity. See an example of working with a particular sport: Videos From  the Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race  And another from an ultra athlete: Rachel Cadman. Working with endurance athletes for example, the focuses are on joint stability, strength training, cardio and nutrition.

Weight Loss Results and Body Fat Reduction Results

What is Wellness?

“ The condition of good physical and mental health, especially when maintained by proper diet, exercise and habits.”–American Heritage Dictionary

“Wellness is about waking up every morning and having enough time, energy and freedom to live the life you want.”

The Keys to Optimum Wellness

1 – Balance Your Diet

You need to get enough of the right foods including colourful fruits and vegetables, protein, good carbohydrates and just enough good fats for the taste you want. You also need vitamins, minerals and fibre from dietary supplements to provide the nutrition missing from your diet that your cells need for good health.

2 – Exercise Regularly

Regular exercise can help you feel and look your best. Exercise conditions your heart and relieves stress and makes it easier to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight.

3 – Drink Lots of Water

Your body is about two-thirds water. In an average day, you lose at least one pint of water even without excessive sweating. To feel your best, you should drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day.

Steps for Achieving Optimum Wellness:

Have an evaluation of your personal wellness.

Identify key areas you need to impact to reach your wellness goals.

Get recommendations from your Personal Wellness Coach.

Make a plan of action that you can commit to.
